Transformer with conservator tank / integral filling

Transformer for urban electric power distribution service.

This type of medium voltage transformer is manufactured as per the IRAM 2250 and IEC 76 standards.

They can be built according to three variables:

a) With conservator tank.
b) Without conservator tank. Hermetic with nitrogen /dry air cushion.
c) Without conservator tank. Hermetic integral filling.

Estos últimos, como su nombre lo indica, están llenos íntegramente de aceite, no existiendo nunca intercambio de aire con la atmósfera, de esta forma se impide el ingreso de humedad y el contacto del fluido con el oxígeno del aire.

The latter, as their name implies, are filled entirely with oil so that there is never any exchange of air with the atmosphere. In this way, the entry of humidity and the contact of the fluid with the oxygen in the air are prevented. Reducing oxidation and increasing the lifetime of the oil and the transformer with minimal maintenance.

Its corrugated wall tank absorbs volume differences produced by temperature changes.

It has a compact appearance and small dimensions.

Hermetic submersible transformers for underground applications

They are airtight, impregnated with mineral oil and can be submerged under water.

Its application is for those places with easy flooding, both by rainfall and by rising groundwater.

For this, its surface paint scheme has a zinc rich epoxy primer and bituminous epoxy finish.

Due to its usefulness and design, it has - in addition to the normal ones - special accessories such as:

• Loadbreak separable MV connectors for use with hot stick - Elastimold type.
• LV epoxy insulated copper bars.
• Externally operable limiter fuses.
• Internal pressure control manometer.
• Pneumatic valve for evacuation and injection of nitrogen.
• Safety valve to release excessive nitrogen overpressure.

Subtransmission and power up to 40 MVA

FOHAMA ELECTROMECANICA’s production line is prepared for the manufacture of electrical transformers up to 40MVA and voltages of 132kV.

Each transformer is designed and manufactured according to customer requirements and specifications, complying with national and international norms and standards IRAM, IEC, ANSI, IEEE.

Design of windings with conventional insulation systems in kraft paper and hybrid systems in Nomex - kraft paper.

Use of inhibited, uninhibited mineral oil and esters as insulating liquid. Synthetic and natural esters are requested by clients because they have great advantages such as their high flash point and being biodegradable.

To preserve the insulating liquid, a high-quality flexible separator can be included to avoid contact of the fluid with air, thus preventing oxidation and humidity.

De-energized or on-load tap-changers can be installed, or a combination of both. On-load tap-changers with vacuum or oil switching technology are available. Upon request a filtering unit can be installed in combination with the switch.

To prevent surges and protect the transformer, surge arresters are coordinated with the system.

Designs with different cooling systems ONAN - ONAN/ONAF - ODAF - ODWF according to requirements, controlled by electronic or electromechanical thermal images. Equipment for direct temperature measurement of the core and windings through optical fibre is available.
